Super Van!

I am not much of a van fan. However, the weathered textured appearance of this old banger caught my eye - enough to commit it to film!
Aficionados of the Ford Transit van might not take too kindly to the cut and shut treatment I have done to create the image but might enjoy the modifications presented in the short video below:

Possibly some of our community members from the UK can remember the actual Super Van back in its heyday?
The Australian variant of the Transit, the model photographed here, received a few ‘improvements’ for the local market. The V4 power plant was given the 'heave-ho' and the locally produced 250 cubic inch ‘Falcon’ in-line 6 was shoehorned into place.

As with many snapshots I have taken using the 24 x 18 mm format, (apologies, I loathe the term ‘half –frame’), the images are photographed frame by frame to create a panoramic scene.
For this series ‘Giuseppe’s Golden Guzzoline’ the images have been designed to be viewed in a complete sequence as presented via the link below:

The whole is very much greater than the sum the parts!

Loving the whole strip of images! I remember these old vans from growing up in the 1970's. As I became a young man they started to disappear quickly due to rusting away from our winter salted roads in the UK :-)

Thanks for the comment and once again, the interest in the ‘snap shots’ presented here.
The early model Ford Transit van was a familiar site on Australian roads. Most commonly finished in red / white livery and kitted out as bread delivery vans similar to the one illustrated in the link below:

With the drier Australian climate and the fitment of the low revving Falcon in-line 6 cylinder engine, many examples soldiered on until the early 1990’s
Going by the cab chassis design of the example in my snapshot, I am fairly certain this old banger would have started it’s working life as a ‘Tip Top’ bread van.
