I’ve tested all three Candido films — 200, 400, and 800 ISO — and I’ve always been satisfied, but the 800 surprised me the most, in a good way.
You’ll get the classic red halations in the first few frames (a nod to cine-style film lovers), but overall, the results are genuinely impressive.
It’s a great match for urban night scenes, vintage or experimental vibes, and neon or tungsten lighting.
The grain is noticeable — as expected from an 800 ISO stock — but never overwhelming or unpleasant.
On this nighttime winter walk around Turin, the Candido 800 really showed what it can do, making the most of every bit of artificial light.
