Embracing the local through heritage walks
A student walks through the outer hallway of the once stately Victoria Hostel during a heritage walk organized by a local group of architects and historians. The heritage walk is one of many efforts by the group to spread awareness about the local heritage and bring momentum to conservation efforts. This structure was engineered and built in the Indo Sarcenic style during the British era (in 1880) by a renowned Indian contractor named Thatikonda Namberumal Chetty.
