it was so romantic in Indonesia on 28 Oktober plus worrisome, since there is a rumors that there will be huge mobilization of youth and student in jakarta, demand to overthrow indonesian current president, that already become unscrupulous and puppet regime of US imperialist. Blockade, arm chain, push and pull with riot brigade of police dept, arrest, those just remind me during my student day back then. united under the slogan "down SBY!" (SBY is an acronomin for indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono). these some of the moments on that day. this rally is a commemoration for "youth oath day" its an oath that was made by indonesian youth during the colonial time, 28th October 1928, its said:
1. we sons and daughters of Indonesia, pleaded one homeland, its Indonesia;
2. we sons and daughters of Indonesia, claimed as one nation, its Indonesian;
3. we sons and daughters of Indonesia, speak in one language, its bahasa Indonesia;
basically this oath is represent a battle cry of Indonesian Youth against colonialism, imperialism and feudalism.

Can't really say it was the best, but it was well worth the experience. It was the last day of the year. He was high. He was happy. And how he made the tea is a feat in itself. Chatter relating to which was the party to attend was all around. We walked away from it all and on to our quiet party around a bonfire.
Not sure which turned out to be the best party of the tiny town, but from the many sounds we heard, it was clear that the competition was tough.
Having travelled a long way from home I was clutching onto my mini-Kaavad preciously. I had seen it in Delhi and could have bought it there. But for some reason, that makes no sense to me, I told myself I'll buy it only from the craftsman. I found out where these craftsmen lived, read about them and marked Bassi on my travel-map (which is in my head). So steering this years' new year trip towards Chittorgarh might have had an ulterior motive after all. Chittorgarh, and 26 kms further, I was at the craft village which is the only place that makes temple shrines (and mini ones too). I was there. And I got what I had come for. What I didn't know was that the National Award winner himself would invite me to his house for a cup of tea.
