Last fall, I bought a roll of Fujichrome Provia 100D at the flea market and took it on a trip to Villa La Angostura. A slide film expired in 1997 and very very poorly preserved. On the way back, the lab whatsapped me the worst: sorry, nothing came out. There wasn't much to see in the film. But there was something. Hints of shapes and shadows, totally colorless. I took it to another lab and received useless scans. Scans washed out from life. Hence the idea of bringing those photos to life using AI. After a lot of editing, coloring and resizing, the roll was revived. Not with the tones that slide film would have had before 97, nor with the endless colors of Patagonia. Now it had its own magic. Recalling the memory of a trip using AI seems like a good way to use AI.
