Putting a +8 close-up filter (but any magnifying glass works as well) in front of the LC-A reduces its minimal focal length from 80cm to about 9cm. When changing the camera's focus from 80cm to infinity, the actual focussing is then altered only minimally from 8,5cm to 10cm. This little close-up modification is done easily, but make sure that you estimate or measure the distances correctly, and be aware of the "parallax error" (i.e. what you see in the viewfinder is not what will be on the photo, since the lens is further down).
