Phoenix Sonoran Preserve, Apache Wash Trail, 29 July 2020 #codysvoice

#codysvoice We took a 3 mile/4.8 km hike in the Sonoran Preserve before it got hot. This trail was the scene of a tragic death. Cody Flom, a 12 year old boy died of heat exposure and dehydration after a dumb adult took him on a 7 mile/11 km hike in July of 2016 without enough water. The desert in July is an unforgiving master. When we got back to the car at 1030 AM it was already 105° F/40.5° C.
