Located in northern Italy, the Adda River encompasses towns of Bormio, Tirano, Sondrio, Bellagio, Lecco, Lodi, and Brivio. Emmanuele decided to take a walk along the Adda River in the Brivio province one morning, with the Lady Gray film loaded into their Minolta AF-C. The morning light was still dim and spread, a bit of mist present, yet the shots came out In their blog, Emmanuele noted how the Lady Grey fashioned the photographs to look dark, stippled, and enigmatic. In old-school Pictorialism, this style was sought after for looking very painterly.

Emmanuele focused on taking shots of the natural scenery along the Adda river, early morning empty street scenes in Brivio that add more mysticism and a hint of solitude in the entire series. True to what the Lady Grey promises, the tonal range and smooth grains add more dimension to the photographs, making them still realistic and life-like.

They developed the film at home with a Rodinal 1+25 formula.
