Without colors to consider, shooting in black and white allows one to concentrate on capturing images formed by light and shadow.
For this challenge, we're looking for monochromatic images that are formed through creative use of light and shadow. Armed with your favorite camera and black and white film, carefully observe how the light (or the lack of it) shapes a scene and focus on photographing those eye-catching forms.
Each participant may submit up to 10 photographs. This competition, which serves as the qualifying round for the Monochrome category, is open to all.
