S. João's Night

S. João is a popular festivity in honor to Saint John the Baptist, and it's one of the best nights in Porto, Portugal.
It is celebrated on the night of the 23rd June and everyone comes out of their home to the city's downtown, celebrating until the early hours of the next morning. There are carousels, fair games, fireworks, street concerts, dances and you will most probably be playfully hit on the head with plastic hammers (they're soft!) or garlic flowers.

Unfortunately, I didn't take my camera with me on the 23rd, and I only registered the last day until the carousels would part to another city with a rather shaky hand. I wasn't all that happy with the results, but I couldn't expect much without a tripod.

Note to self: Never leave home without a tripod at night.
