Old Post Office

This is the old post office in Athens, Alabama at night. The building is now used by the county commission after the post office moved to a newer building. This is the back, where the mail trucks used to load and unload. It was built when much of the mail was carried by train and is only a few blocks from the train station. The bulb photos were made without a tripod; the camera was braced on a solid object. Photos made with a Kodak Rentinette 1A - This camera looks like a rangefinder, but it's zone focused. It has adjustable aperture and shutter speed (with bulb). It's between a point and shoot and a higher end camera. The lens is pretty good.
