A cold, cloudy and dark December morning and a long walk from Bensheim to Seeheim-Jugenheim at/in the Bergstrasse/Odenwald in Germany/Hesse near Darmstadt. Passing by the Castle of Heiligenberg (Holy Hill), rather a "sophisticated" Villa from the early 19th century. Kodak Retina 1 A loaded with a Fomapan 200. Developed in AM74, solution 1+7 for five minutes. Two frames were done later to complete the film. They show my beloved 29yr old 'Swedish brick' as well as one of my favourite classics - a Morris Minor. Unfortunately it was the last frame, hence only one shot of this beautiful car.

A beautiful sunny day - people preferred to enjoy a coffee before everything had to close the next day- so we had the forest almost on our own for our Sunday walk. Minolta X 700 with APS 400 stand developed in Adonal (which I used now for the second time) for one hour. I am not very satisfied with the Adonal - the shots are not crisp, large areas miss details such as clouds etc. May be I try next time with a thicker solution and agitated development to increase also the contrast. Scenes are in the "Fürstenlager" (best translation would be "Lord's retreat), a historical park, well maintained and a visitor's magnet. When the photos were taken I was almost alone though due to the cold and wet weather conditions. I was happy that the Kiosk was still open for a coffee.

This roll I almost disposed too after development (Adonal 1+50, Semi stand for 30 minutes) - but at a second glance I like the mystic outcome in particular of the forest photos. It appears to be a night walk, even though it was bright day light. Outcome quite pulverantilistic too.

On August 4, 2023, in bitterly cold weather, we left El Chaltén to reach El Calafate, a little further south, still via the legendary Ruta 40. The peaks of Fitz Roy will remain visible for a good part of the journey. We also make a stop at the famous Parador La Léona, halfway between El Chaltén and El Calafate. A unique place, this guesthouse has existed since 1894 and welcomes all travelers who take route 40 north or south...
