The Exakta was produced from 1933 - 1970 at the Ihagee Kamerawerke AG in Dresden (Germany east). In addition to the original model, some cameras was produced under a foreign label for export. Glorious! I have the VX, and it's a very capable (if heavy) machine... Didn't Jimmy Stewart have one in Hitchcock's ”Rear Window”?

I haven't seen the hitchkock movie. But as a camera collector, I watch the movies very closely. I always have to laugh when a photographer takes pictures with a 6x6 camera - usually a Rolleiflex - and the pictures are in 135 format. 9x13, 10x15 or 13x18. This is so funny!

@andre30 Haha! Good point. Maybe they're all using 120-to-135 adaptor kits... Or that Rolleiflex is a Yashica 635 in disguise!
By the way, I checked: The camera in ”Rear Window” is a VX with black tape over the name badge (see here: www.moma.org/calendar/events/4334) – but notice how Stewart is holding his finger on the shutter speed dial, not on the shutter release button...

Ich habe einmal in Internet ein sehr schönes Zebra Objektiv mit Exa Exakta Bajonett erworben. Im Angebot stand m42. Habe dann dieses Objektiv mit m42 Gewinde gesucht und gefunden. Habe gedacht, daß ich mir irgendwann eine Exakta zulegen könnte, fing dann aber mit dem Mittelformat an. Falls du (oder du jemand kennst, der) interessiert sein könnte, einfach schreiben. Ich kann es jederzeit in Kleinanzeigen an den Mann bringen, bin aber der Meinung, daß wenn es von einem Exakta-Fan adoptiert wird, mehr Freude bereitet.

Great collection. I have a varex iib 1069241. I love it. And a EXA500 too. Both still working and I have just recently taken a few shots. Which is your favourite to use?
