Game Changers: Subframing

1,037 서브미션 · 진행 중 ·

Subframing is a composition technique wherein one uses elements within the scene to frame the subject.

Shooting through a window, for starters, is a great way to isolate the view outside. Aside from giving emphasis on the focal point of the photo, subframing is also creating a sense of depth in photography. Think of other objects that you can use to frame your subject. It could be a reflection on the mirror in the style of Elliot Erwitt or even a pair of legs like this shot by Dan Winters.

If you need a bit of inspiration to ace this challenge, learn how to effectively use subframing with this quick video!

Each participant may submit up to 10 photographs. This competition, which serves as the qualifying round for the Game Changers category, is open to all.
